Scope of Work
From September 2013 to May 2015, Jaya Vigilant was employed on a deepwater geotechnical project for a leading independent energy company off Mozambique to map the seabed for a future gas field development. The vessel was upgraded with a second HiPAP system and a mezzanine deck to carry two work class ROVs to work in up to 2000m of water.
Using its 50 ton Active Heave Compensated crane, Jaya Vigilant undertook a wide range of survey and geotechnical applications in the Indian Ocean. The vessel was used successfully for coring work on the seabed supporting Benthic’s PROD system and deployed an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). The ship also laid and recovered current meters and towed a seismic array, as well as performing conventional supply work for a deepwater DP3 drillship. Additional water making capacity was added to the boat to increase autonomy in the remote location off East Africa and the vessel’s contract was renewed twice beyond the initial firm period.
