Mr David Ross
Managing Director
Appointed 13 January 2020

David was appointed as CEO of the Company on 1 July 2019 and subsequently as Managing Director of the Company on 13 January 2020.
David has spent more than 30 years working in the maritime industry having started his career as a seagoing marine engineer and qualifying as an Engineer Class 1 – Motor (Marine Chief Engineer) in 1995.
In 1995, David moved to a shore based marine career - initially at BHP Transport in Melbourne and subsequently moving to operational and strategic roles at BHP Billiton freight group in the Netherlands.
David has extensive knowledge of MMA’s operations having been with the Company for more than 18 years. Prior to being appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, David held the roles of General Manager Operations, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, including relocating to Singapore to drive the Company’s international growth.
David is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Maritime Industry Australia Limited (which represents the collective interests of maritime businesses in Australia) and is also a director of the Company’s international subsidiaries in Singapore, UK, USA, Taiwan, Malaysia and PNG.
As Managing Director of MMA, David is responsible for the financial and operational performance of all of the Company’s business lines.

Mr David Cavanagh
Chief Financial Officer
Appointed 4 December 2017

David graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting) and biochemistry from the University of Queensland in 2004 and went on to become a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants two years later. He completed a CFO mentoring program with Australia’s Financial Executive Institute under the mentorship of BankWest’s CFO in 2015.

David soon emerged as a talented leader in Australia’s banking and finance industries; serving as the Manager, Corporate Advisory and Restructuring with PWC, Commercial Manager at Macquarie Bank and a Senior Analyst at Deloitte.

In 2010, David steered his career towards the marine logistics industry and spent seven years working within the Toll Group of companies. He held the position of General Manager, Finance and Commercial for Toll Resources and Government Logistics, a company with $1.2b in revenue per annum. Before this he spent time as the Manager of Finance and Commercial for Toll Energy and Marine Logistics, and for Toll Remote Logistics Pty Ltd.

In December 2017, David was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of MMA Offshore. David’s strong background in marine logistics coupled with his financial and commercial acumen, provides MMA with unique financial leadership.

Mr Tim Muirhead
Executive General Manager - Legal / Company Secretary
Appointed 10 January 2022

Tim joined the MMA legal team in November 2009 and is the MMA Offshore Group’s Executive General Manager – Legal and Company Secretary.

Tim is an Australian qualified lawyer with over 17 years’ experience in the provision of advice on corporate and commercial transactions, governance, insurance and maritime law.

Tim joined MMA from leading Australian law firm Clayton Utz, where he advised on a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions. Tim was also Senior Legal Counsel at ASX listed Orica Limited, managing legal, claims and governance matters in Orica’s Asian and the Middle Eastern businesses.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Law (with distinction) from the University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance and Risk Management from the Governance Institute of Australia.

 

Ms Liz Buckey
Executive General Manager - Corporate Development
Appointed 5 November 2012

Liz joined MMA in July 2010 and was appointed Executive General Manager of Corporate Development in November 2012. Her areas of responsibility include Corporate Development and Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Communications, ESG and Marketing. She is also Chair of MMA’s ESG Committee and Co-Chair of MMA’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Prior to joining MMA, Liz was an Associate Director at Azure Capital, a Perth based Corporate Advisory Firm, where she advised on mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and IPOs across a range of industries. She has also held a number of CFO and professional services roles throughout her career.

Liz graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (1st Class Honours) from University College Dublin. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA). She has also completed the AICD Company Directors’ Course, the Financial Strategy in Global Markets program at INSEAD (France) and the Sustainability Management and Corporate Responsibility course at London Business School.

Mr Stuart Edgar
Executive General Manager - Vessel Services
Appointed 12 October 2020

Stuart joined MMA in 2010 as part of the business development team, and was appointed to the role of Business Development Manager Australasia in 2016. Prior to joining the organisation, Stuart held BD roles at Toll Energy Logistics, Technip Oceania and CHC Helicopter. He has extensive experience in both onshore and offshore oil and gas logistics operations. Before this, Stuart studied for a Master of Business Administration, and served as an Australian Army Aviation officer and helicopter pilot.

In November 2018, he was appointed to the position of Executive General Manager - Project Logistics. In October 2020, Stuart was appointed to the position of Executive General Manager Vessel Services and oversees commercial and operational aspects of MMA's fleet of vessels.

Mr Tom Radic
Executive General Manager - Subsea Services
Appointed 03 February 2020

Tom began his professional career in subsea engineering and project management with Clough Oil and Gas in 2003, where he gained experience in the execution of offshore oil and gas projects in the SE Asia and Australia region. In 2006, Tom joined Subsea 7, where he spent 13 years in project management and commercial roles, contributing to both new business acquisition and the delivery of major global projects. His final three years with Subsea 7 also included leading the execution of a new capital development for the organisation, where he gained exposure to the strategic elements of the organisation. Tom subsequently took up a role with ConocoPhillips, gaining operator experience, before joining MMA Offshore in 2020 as the Executive General Manager – Subsea Services.

During his career, Tom has gained global experience having worked in Australia, SE Asia, India, Europe and the UK and Africa, and executed projects for a number of the world’s highest profile oil and gas operators. Tom graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, 1st Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (General Management and Human Resources Management) in 2002.

Ms Debbi Garreffa
Executive General Manager - HSEQ, Risk and Assurance
Appointed 24 January 2022

Debbi began her career in Compliance and HSE management with the Water Corporation in Karratha, Western Australia and worked extensively within the Northwest Region of the Water Corporation for several years prior to joining MMA Offshore.

During her 20 years at MMA, Debbi has held several management and senior management roles across operations, commercial, compliance, project management and HSE. This has involved vessel new-build completions, mobilisations, acquisition integrations, commercial contract and project management and management of all MMA license to operate compliance regimes.

In January 2022, Debbi was appointed into the position of Executive General Manager – HSEQ, Risk and Assurance. Debbi’s portfolio includes HSEQ, Corporate Risk, Compliance and overall accountability of MMA’s internal and external audit assurance program.

Debbi has a Master in Business Administration, is the Vice Chair of the International Maritime Contractors Association (IMCA) HSS Core Committee and is a member of the IMCA Asia Pacific Regional Committee.

Ms Lisa Breen
Executive General Manager - Human Resources
Appointed 4 June 2024

Lisa began her HR career in aviation and logistics, spending five years in the sector before joining Woodside Energy in 2005, where she gained significant experience in the management of learning and development projects, as well as managing the graduate program for Woodside’s Drilling and Completions division. Lisa joined Calibre Global in 2008, where she spent over seven years overseeing operational HR for the company’s Minerals and Metals division.

In 2015, Lisa embarked on a career path within the maritime industry and was appointed to Vice President People and Culture at Austal Ltd, where she spent over nine years managing operational and strategic HR across the global marine business.

In June 2024, Lisa was appointed Executive General Manager – Human Resources at MMA Offshore, overseeing the management of MMA’s global HR function.

Lisa has a Bachelor of Business – HR from Monash University, as well as a Master of Business Administration and a Graduate Diploma – HR from Murdoch University. She is also a Human Synergistics Accredited practitioner.
