MMA OFFSHORE WINS AUSTCHAM INNOVATION AWARD 2019

MMA Offshore Limited has been announced as the winner of the AustCham Singapore Innovation Award 2019 for our MMA Pinnacle Walk to Work Project. MMA was contracted by an Australian long-term client to provide accommodation and walk-to-work vessel services to support platform maintenance operations in Australia over two separate scopes.

MMA’s solution involved fitting one of MMA’s vessels, the MMA Pinnacle, with a bespoke motion-compensated gangway & pedestal system which enabled the safe and efficient transfer of maintenance personnel between the gas platform and the vessel. In between transfers, the vessel stood nearby the platform as an accommodation facility during the maintenance programme. Particularly challenging for this project was the significant height of the gas platform (up to 30 meters) and the variable ocean conditions requiring a highly engineered solution.

Deputy CEO David Ross said: “To manage this project, we utilise our engineering, technical and marine expertise from MMA’s Singapore Office and Tuas Onshore Facility to design and implement a unique marine solution for our client.”

This Innovation Award is testament to MMA’s innovative approach. The project has paved the way for an innovative, safer and more efficient approach to offshore platform maintenance logistics in the North West Shelf Region of Australia.

We are pleased to say that we received very positive feedback from the AustCham Singapore judges about our MMA Pinnacle Walk to Work Project: “They have demonstrated innovation through bringing progressive and new ideas to business in priority sectors.”
